These ELSA related projects focus on data sharing, digitalisation, and innovation in the agri-food sector. They explicitly address ethical, legal, and societal aspects, among others through ELSA scans.
Common European Agricultural Dataspace
The EU Horizon project CEADS deploys the Common European Agricultural Data Space, creating a secure, trusted, and interoperable environment for data sharing across the European agri-food sector to boost economic, environmental, and societal performance while upholding high ethical standards. The CEADS project conducts 24 ELSA scans (interview with 3 different roles; tech, business and governance) for 8 data sharing initiatives (DSIs).
AgData is a European partnership uniting funders, researchers, policymakers, and industry to create a federated data-driven ecosystem, integrating Earth observation, environmental, and agri‑data to accelerate innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Projects funded by AgData will need to take ELSA into account.
AgriFoodTEF is a Digital Europe project and builds a pan-European testing and experimentation facility for AI and robotics in agriculture and food, providing real-world environments to accelerate trustworthy innovation. It offers digital and physical testing facilities as services, of which the ELSA Scan by WUR.
PATH2DEA is a Digital Europe project and establishes a pan‑European network of six showcase farms and open‑source digital tools to accelerate the sustainable transition of agroecological farming systems and performed 5 ELSA Scans.
NextGen HighTech is a Dutch program across sectors that drives the development of next-generation high-tech systems and materials in the Netherlands, fostering innovation for sustainable industries and societal impact. Several cases in the handfree agtech sector underwent an ELSA Scan.
The EU Horizon project Data4Food2030 accelerates the digital transformation of Europe’s agri-food systems by providing policy recommendations for a trusted, data-driven data economy in agri-food that fosters innovation, sustainability, and fair value distribution in the food system. The 9 case studies were interviewed for an ELSA Scan.
